I am going through this stage, for the stage. That's the difference. The stage where i will be a student of the stage.
The next 12 months will be dramatic. I hope to make it Dramartic. The infusion of creative art into theatre is going to be one of the most interesting experiments that i will undertake soon.
i have been going through the work showcased by the Alumni of the course and i have been mighty impressed with the lines of thought that have emerged. Concepts and ideas far away from stage ideas, yet so beautifully integrated and woven into creating drama.
The sort of play happening with sculptural installations, light art, movement and creative construction has been phenomenal. It's definitely giving me great ideas for my next experiments.
The best thing about being a student is that you can experiment as much as you want, and most of the resources are at easy access.
There are 14 other courses at Central school and that would mean collaborations with Actors, Trainers, Designers, Voice Artists, Movement artistists, researchers and musicians. The diversity of people on the course looks amazing and i hope to be able to work with interesting artists with thought provoking ideas.
I am starting to get excited about small things to do with going back to school. Starting with stationery, to college bags to books to everything else, including my new ID card and all those student benefits that i will be entitled to in the UK, I am looking forward to all of it :)
So yes, friends and friends of friends. Please feel free to buzz me if you happen to be London sometime and would like to catch up for a cup of coffee. South Indian filter coffee is also doable, considering i am carrying the filter from home :)
